I earnestly told everyone I planned to live out my life and die in Palm Springs. I had lived there for several years and did not plan to leave. I loved the desert and made friends with the heat, pools and cacti. In this rare abstract landscape, I drew the diagonal road (Route 111) in the middle leading past my home at the foot of Mount San Jacinto on the bottom right. The westbound road leads to the solitary Morongo Casino high rise where I frequently gave Lyft rides to and from.
